Conduct and misconduct

Chairs and deans must be knowledgeable about campus policies in order to uphold them and report violations as appropriate.

Every academic leader should know where to find information about conduct requirements and when/where to report misconduct to the appropriate authority. 

  • The campus Office of Ethics, Risk and Compliance maintains a comprehensive list of all campus-wide policies, as well as links to systemwide policies and other sets of guidelines.
  • Each campus population (students, staff, faculty) also has its own general code of conduct

The next two subsections of this toolkit introduce you to several broadly applicable policies as well as population-specific codes of conduct.
