Grievances

An employee may file a grievance if they believe the terms and conditions of their employment, or their rights as an employee, have been violated. Pathways vary by type of employment.

Faculty members who believe their rights have been violated may pursue the option of filing a grievance with the Academic Senate's Committee on Privilege & Tenure. The recommended first step in that process is a consultation with the Academic Senate's Panel of Counselors.

For staff who wish to file a grievance regarding the terms and conditions of their employment, the best place to start is the Employee Labor & Relations website.
