Wellness and health support

The best way to address illness, injury, and other kinds of harm is to prevent them from occurring in the first place.

The campus has a number of resources academic leaders can rely on to support their community.

  • The Supportal website is designed as a navigational aid to assist the campus community in finding the right place to start to address a concern.
  • The "recalibrate" website is a compendium of campus wellness resources for you to explore, tailored for the needs of different subpopulations within your community. Dip into this resource to discover things you can do to support your community.
  • University Health Services offers workshops for campus leaders on preventing mental health problems, including suicide
  • The PATH to Care Center offers workshops and toolkits designed to aid academic leaders in preventing sexual harassment and other exclusionary behaviors in their units
  • The Bears that CARE program within the Center for Support & Intervention offers bystander intervention workshops to build skills for you and your unit in mitigating the effects of unwelcome behavior
  • Encouraging your employees to take advantage of ergonomic supports can prevent workplace injuries (and increase morale!)

You don't need to do all these things (though ergonomics is pretty essential). Anything you do in this regard will move your unit in the right direction.
