Creating Community: Healthy and inclusive department climate

As an academic leader, you have an opportunity to shape a healthy climate within your academic unit.

This includes:

  • Setting, communicating, and modeling expectations for how people conduct and express themselves in your unit, consistent with Berkeley's Principles of Community
  • Working with your equity advisors and climate committee on departmental climate initiatives
  • Seeking out supportive interventions to help with climate issues in the department
