The central office that oversees fundraising and development is UDAR (University Development and Alumni Relations). Most decanal units have their own development offices, which coordinate with UDAR.
As an academic leader, you will want to work closely with development staff.
Functions within UDAR that may be particularly useful to individual faculty and departments include:
- Annual Giving, including the Big Give.
- The Foundation Relations and Corporate Philanthropy team, which facilitates corporate and foundation partnerships on behalf of UC Berkeley, and can be helpful to faculty seeking funding for their research.
