General guides to teaching policy and information
Your faculty and staff are already quite knowledgeable about teaching, curriculum, and class management basics. Various divisions of campus offer rich and useful information: the Division of Undergraduate Education(link is external); the Graduate Division(link is external); the Registrar's Office(link is external) (within the Division of Student Affairs); the Academic Senate(link is external); and individual schools and colleges. It can be hard to know where to start.
There are some general online resources that can address a lot of questions:
- The Academic Guide(link is external) covers information ranging from the course catalog(link is external) and schedule of classes(link is external) to information about degree programs and more.
- The Guide to Graduate Policy(link is external) offers comprehensive information about graduate degree programs.
In addition, this section of the toolkit points you to useful, specialized resources in the areas of classroom management, rules and policies, and advising & mentoring.
